Direct Air Capture Technology Skytree Stratus Wins Prestigious GreenTech Innovation Award 2025

AMSTERDAM, Jun 18, 2025 — Skytree, a leader in carbon capture technology, announces its cutting-edge DAC (Direct Air Capture) machine Skytree Stratus, has been awarded the coveted GreenTech Innovation Award 2025. The announcement was made at the opening of last week’s GreenTech Amsterdam 2025 trade show, one of the leading international events for horticultural technology.

The GreenTech Innovation Award recognizes the most revolutionary and impactful innovations in the horticulture industry. A jury of experts selected Skytree Stratus for its forward-thinking approach to decentralized carbon dioxide (CO₂) capture, offering a sustainable and cost-effective solution for greenhouse operators.

The award-winning Skytree Stratus is an on-site DAC machine that extracts CO₂ directly from  ambient air. This captured CO₂ can then be utilized to enrich the greenhouse environment, a critical component for enhancing crop growth and yield. By generating their own CO₂, growers can significantly reduce their reliance on traditional, fossil-fuel-based sources and the associated volatile supply chains and costs.

“We are incredibly honored to receive this prestigious award. Skytree Stratus represents a paradigm shift in how growers can manage their CO₂ supply. It empowers them to be self-sufficient, control their CO₂ costs and improve their carbon footprint, and ultimately grow more with less. This recognition from GreenTech is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in developing a truly innovative solution for a more sustainable future in horticulture.”

— Camille Hanna, VP Global Carbon Solutions at Skytree

In their assessment, the GreenTech jury highlighted the significant potential of Skytree Stratus to contribute to the sustainable food production in the sector and securing future sources of CO₂. They praised its ability to provide a reliable and sustainable source of CO₂, but also Sktree’s effective collaboration with Dutch government and sector organizations to prepare for large-scale roll out of Skytree Stratus, which is essential for continuity of productive greenhouses in the Netherlands.

About Skytree

Skytree engineers the CO₂ transition by developing Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology that captures CO₂ from the air and repurposes it for good: whether carbon is reused across different industries or stored permanently.

With over a decade of innovation rooted in the European Space Agency (ESA), Skytree's patented DAC technology transforms atmospheric CO₂ into a valuable resource: powering applications like renewable fuels and chemicals, greenhouses, beverage carbonation and water treatment.

Skytree’s modular DAC machines and unique DAC Park architecture allow companies to deploy in any climate, at scale - offering a bankable path to carbon capture and accelerating the transition to a circular CO₂ economy.
